Crosso Mercator Saddle Bag: Blaze New Trails
No more sideways swaying. Here’s a well-thought-out piece of equipment you can rely on thousands of miles from home.
We named it after the famous cartographer. With our Mercator under your saddle, you’ll be tracing your adventures with your tires, crossing new latitudes and longitudes, and discovering unknown corners of the world. Before this model went into production, it took a real beating. The bag spent weeks on the famous Podlasie “grate” that can spin up any bike, and covered hundreds of kilometers in the dust of the Australian Outback. Conclusion? Yes, she’s battle-tested and passed the test with flying colors.
We don’t race for grams. We design for years.
The Crosso Mercator Saddle Bag is an investment in peace of mind on the trail. We didn’t skimp on materials at the expense of durability. As with our classic panniers, we wanted to create equipment that would last many seasons of intensive use. We worked on the design of this bag for 4 years, and although we really wanted to release it to the market sooner, we constantly refined the details, taking on board the constant online comments that we should make a saddle bag. Today, we’re confident in this product, so in addition to the two-year statutory warranty, you get an additional 3-year warranty from us (after registering for our Extended Warranty Program). That’s a total of 5 years of support for your equipment.
Stability above all
Does the pendulum effect on steep descents and technical sections annoy you? We do too. The Mercator’s main design goal was to create a structure that grips the seatpost securely and rigidly. We achieved this with a specially stiffened outer shell, so you can simply focus on the ride, not on your gear dangling to the sides.

Modular system
No more tedious daily disassembly of the entire setup. The Mercator saddle bag consists of a sturdy harness that attaches to the bike and a removable 10-liter bag (sold separately). When you arrive at your destination, simply slide out the bag and carry it to your tent or room, and the harness is ready for your morning start.
Waterproof and mud-ready
- ✓ Waterproof: The bag, with a capacity of up to 10 liters, is made of armored TPU Nylon (the same material used in our proven Expert pockets). High-frequency (HF) welding technology ensures your clothes stay dry, even if you’re riding in a cloudburst. We guarantee waterproofness against prolonged rain and temporary immersion.
- ✓ Premium Materials: The shell is made of original X-Pac®. In critical areas, we used armored Cordura®, and the whole thing is reinforced with anti-slip DuraGrip material (our equivalent of Hypalon), which grips the seatpost like a champ.
- ✓ Built-in mudguard: We’ve reinforced the bottom of the Mercator harness with smooth HDPE. The bag acts as a great mudguard, and you can simply rinse off any mud with water after returning.
- ✓ Hardware without compromise: We only use reliable aluminum and nylon buckles from market leaders: Woojin and Duraflex. Their design prevents the straps from loosening over bumps. Are you also annoyed by straps flapping in the wind? We hate that too – we’ve added Velcro at the ends so you can roll everything up and lock it in place.
- ✓ Modularity and Adjustability: Need less luggage? You can adjust the capacity by compressing the bag and shortening the shell by folding down the flap. Thanks to additional loops on the outside, you can easily attach a cup, sandals, or a wet jacket.
