In the world of extreme expeditions, plastic is a liability, but steel is a promise.  At Crosso, we use galvanized and stainless steel for the most critical points of our gear – the mounting hooks and structural hardware. Why? Because steel doesn’t shatter in sub-zero temperatures and it doesn’t snap under the sudden impact of a washboard road. It is the ultimate “old-school” insurance policy: if you hit a rock and bend a steel hook, you can simply hammer it back into shape and keep riding. You can’t do that with carbon or plastic. Our steel components are the heavy-duty backbone of our Crosso System, designed for travelers who measure their journeys in continents, not kilometers. When the trail gets brutal, trust the iron.
